[edit] Synopsis
Masashi is a handsome, charismatic top host famous for being unmoved by anyone. But one day he walks into a pet shop and falls in love with the courageous purity of the youth Saki, one of the assistants at the shop.
Saki refuses Masashi's advances at first, but finally agrees to spend one night with him for the price of 1 million yen--money his mother desperately needs. They spend the night together at a hotel. Saki finds himself falling in love with Masashi as well, but pretends otherwise because he thinks it's better for both of them. He slips away the next morning, forgetting the money, and Masashi chases after him. He maintains that he only spent the night with Masashi for the money, and Masashi finally leaves, defeated by Saki's stubbornness.
Distraught, Masashi confides his feelings to Hikaru, a fellow host and friend. The jealous Hikaru vows revenge on Saki, and tells Saki that Masashi is his lover. Saki, believing Hikaru, tells Masashi that he doesn't want to see him anymore.
Reiichi stops Masashi from beating Hikaru up, and forces a confession out of Hikaru with rather more interesting methods.
A month later, Saki has stopped working at the old pet shop and found work at another pet shop, where he finds the pets to be ill-cared-for. One day the lewd shop owner attacks him, and in desperation he calls out Masashi's name. Masashi, Hikaru, and Reiichi arrive on the scene to rescue him. Hikaru confesses his lies, and Saki and Masashi spend another night at the hotel, this time as lovers. Saki moves in with Masashi, and they get a dog named Saki-chan. Reiichan tells Saki, "Masashi is a host--many things may happen in the future, but please trust in him."
Saki replies, "I will."
